About the role

  • The position will focus on providing services to social science students and faculty, and particularly the Teacher Education and Psychology departments.
  • The position will serve as our field trip liaison for visiting K-12 students and other groups.
  • Pushing and pulling book carts, reaching overhead, and bending to the floor are common activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and curates collections
  • Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services
  • Designs, develops, and delivers instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons
  • Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with vendors and professional colleagues
  • Coordinates and leads library tours, library instruction, and other activities for K-12 and other visitors. Works with Admissions and other campus offices bringing visitors to campus.
  • Develops and curates collections related to liaison areas.
  • Cultivates and maintains productive collaboration with professional colleagues.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patron s.

Requirements

  • MLIS or MIS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited graduate program by position start date.
  • Experience providing service to patrons in a library.
  • Ability to work effectively in small groups or teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations, preparing online instruction, and providing research help services.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in academic or library AI applications.
  • Experience working in an academic library.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.

Compensation

  • $50,000-$52,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
