Responsibilities

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from initial draft through execution and fulfillment, coordinating with business leadership and project teams on deal terms, risk allocation, and enforcement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage the subcontract lifecycle, from negotiating terms/modifications through operational application execution and fulfillment, coordinating with business leadership and project teams on deal terms, risk allocation, and enforcement.
  • Negotiate Master Subcontract Agreements (MSA) and Work Authorizations with subcontractor trade partners.
  • Support negotiation and review of Professional Services Agreements (PSA) with architects, engineers, surveyors, and other consultants.
  • Manage and resolve contract disputes with subcontractors, owners, and other project stakeholders, including negotiation of settlements and enforcement of contractual remedies.
  • Handle litigation matters (where licensed), including complaints, answers, motions, discovery, depositions, and trial support where appropriate.
  • Hire, direct, and oversee outside counsel on matters in jurisdictions or matters requiring external support.
  • Manage document production and preservation efforts related to active disputes and litigation.
  • Legal Advisory and Business Support
  • Create and deliver training to leadership teams and operational personnel regarding legal and legal-adjacent topics applicable to their work.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school is required.

Nice to have

  • Active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state required (Colorado, Texas, and/or Georgia strongly preferred)
  • must be willing and able to obtain Colorado licensure (and potentially others) through reciprocity or examination.
  • At least 8 years of relevant legal experience with track record of increased responsibility
  • construction or AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance and HR/employment matters preferred.

Compensation

  • $155,000 - $180,000 USD
