Responsibilities

  • As a Third Year Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice you will perform tasks in mechanical servicing, repair and maintenance of KBL's fleet of heavy trucks and trailers.
  • Your work helps build safer, cleaner communities across Canada and that's something to be proud of
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) may be used to support the preliminary screening and evaluation of resumes submitted in response to our job postings as part of our recruitment process.

Requirements

  • Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving parts up to 75 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Work with Equipment Manager to schedule required servicing to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Complete necessary repairs and required maintenance as per the scheduled servicing
  • Have experience with highway units on operations and maintenance

Skills

  • Keep tools clean and stored when not in use
  • Ensure parts are where they should be
  • Assist Service Manager with parts and inventory management
  • Located at our KBL shop in Leduc, this job is on an 8 and 6 rotation, possibility of some overtime hours.
  • Experience working on Heavy on Road Trucks and Trailers, Side and End Dump.
  • Familiar with Peterbilt/ Western Start/Kenworth is considered an asset
  • Possession of valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivator willing to work overtime if needed
