About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer II role is crucial in driving process improvements, ensuring product quality, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency.
The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing principles, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Leading and participating in process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

In this role, you will develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
You will conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability.
Additionally, you will assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to standardize operations and maintain quality.
You will read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities, and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.

Requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Proficiency in CAD software (ex: NX).
Experience in process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience in conducting process validation and verification tasks.
Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
Proficiency reading technical manuals and schematics.
Knowledge of equipment calibration and testing procedures.
This role requires technical proficiency, innovation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven track record in a space or aerospace manufacturing setting.
In-depth understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, avionics, propulsion, and high-pressure systems.
Successful introduction of new aerospace hardware systems into manufacturing, testing, and production environments.
Experience in implementing AS9100 quality standards.

$87,663.00 - $120,558.00
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
