About the role
- ASU students, including those who are eligible for Federal Work Study through the financial aid office participate as tutors and mentors.
- In the tutoring program, K-8th grade children receive 1-on-1 tutoring, the America Reads tutors facilitate interactive educational activities that corresponds to the Arizona Academic Standards in reading, writing and math.
Responsibilities

- Administrative Support
- Provides routine administrative support to a department or group of professionals in support of department goals.
- Support classroom activities, presentations, and hands-on programming that help students explore college and career pathways.
- Coordinate event logistics such as registration, materials preparation, venue setup, transportation flow, check-in, and staffing support.
- Maintain organized digital files, worksheets, calendars, and shared documents to support team communication and program operations.
- Provide excellent service to students, educators, families, and community partners.
- Support data collection through attendance tracking, surveys, and post-event documentation.
- Travels to community partner sites on a weekly basis to manage logistics and be trained to operate an ASU vehicle for the transporting of tutors and staff when necessary.
- Maintains safe environments for all participants
Requirements
- Occasional nights and weekends required
- Graduate in a closely related field of study
- Practical work experience in K-12 learning environment
- Experience mentoring, supervising, or leading college students or student workers
- Experience coordinating event logistics or managing program scheduling
- Experience facilitating workshops, programs, or classroom activities
- Experience working in a university setting, especially in student support or outreach
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of college and career readiness strategies
- Experience with public speaking and presenting to groups
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
Compensation
- $20.00 per hour
