About the role
- Discord is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Data Engineer, Analytics to join our data team!
- You will be owning the transformation and semantic layer that turns data into clean, tested, well-documented tables and dashboards that data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders can trust and self-serve from.
- You'll define and operationalize the metrics that inform how we identify opportunities, measure success, and make decisions.

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering with a strong focus on building curated, consumer-facing datasets
- 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models from structured and unstructured sources
- 4+ years of experience writing accurate and effective code in SQL
- Experience with designing data model to power a variety of use cases, including experimentation
Nice to have
- Passion for Discord or online communities
- Experience with modern analytics and data engineering tools and workflows (dbt, BigQuery, or similar)
- Experience defining and governing metric standards across a data organization
- Experience working on analytics for core features (i.e. messaging, video/voice call etc) in communication app.
- Experience working on analytics for performance and reliability of communication app
Compensation
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $245,000 + equity + benefits.
