About the role
- The Flatbed Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dump trucks to transport recyclable materials.
- This includes adhering to weight regulations, conducting vehicle inspections, and ensuring compliance with all transportation and safety laws.
- The role is critical in maintaining the flow of materials between various locations, including out-of-state sites, while supporting the company's operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant communication with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and report any problems, including but not limited to delays, customer requests, unsafe situations, potential safety hazards, and injuries.
- Collaborate with dispatch to drive projects, enhancing productivity and performance without compromising quality and safety.
- Always perform and document pre and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment
- Perform regular preventative maintenance to keep all equipment in good operating condition and ensure safety equipment is available and in good working order.
Requirements
- Ability to adjust focus.
Nice to have
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Must hold a valid Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CDL truck driving experience is required.
- Class A license with no restrictions is required.
- Experience as a Class A driver.
- Willingness to work various shifts and travel up to 50% of the time.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in both English & Spanish is required.
- Must be able to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Must be able to write clear correspondence, memos, and schedules.
- Mathematical
- Strong math skills are required.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are required.
- Must be able to think creatively and apply common sense to address and meet customer needs effectively.
