About the role

The Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing quality engineering activities at the Hood River facility.
This Role reports directly to the Site Manager, with joint interaction with BorgWarner Portland's Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager, and the Manufacturing Engineering department.

This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain procedures and documentation that ensure the production and quality control of all products shipped from the Hood River location.

5-8 years' experience
Highly developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Skilled in the use of ERP/MRP systems with a preference for SAP experience.
Strong engineering intuition with the ability to work with limited information to quickly solve problems.

Ensure every product meets specifications while championing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) mindset.
Review and make disposition on non-conforming materials and represent BorgWarner on related issues.
Prepare and submit customer quality documentation, including deviation requests.
Analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications with an understanding of GD&T principles.
Conduct inspections using CMM and other precision measurement tools to ensure product dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
