About the role

This is a 24-hour direct patient care unit with 6 private patient rooms.
Patients admitted to the PICU are likely to be those with acute medical disease states.
Our patients range in age from newborn to 19 years of age.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements a plan of care (including goals) that is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis.
Develops, reviews, and implements the discharge plan upon admission, and throughout the patient stay.
Performs point-of-care lab testing as per established policies and procedures.
This includes patients with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, ICP monitoring, EVD monitoring), surgical drains/chest tubes, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, tracheostomies with vent support, vasopressor requirement (epinephrine, dopamine, vasopressin), and/or continuous sedation requirement (versed, fentanyl, precedex etc).

Requirements

Registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school with a current state license required.
Minimum of two years of critical care experience within the last five years required.
CPR (BLS) certification required.
ACLS certified within six months of transfer or hire required.
PALS certified within six months of transfer or hire required.

Nice to have

B achelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Pediatric Critical Care preferred.
