About the role
- The Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics is seeking a bioinformatician to join our highly collaborative environment.
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with systems biology, drug-gene interactions, and network analysis.
- Projects will focus on advancing cutting-edge drug discovery programs for childhood catastrophic diseases using the latest approaches in proximity-based targeting.
Responsibilities
- Develop prototypes for cloud portals and visualization tools; programs for the analysis of data within databases.
- Develop web services to query the database.
- Develop and implement computational and systems biology approaches for network and hidden driver analysis for genomic transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to apply developed algorithms to diverse datasets.
- Perform integrative analyses of multidimensional datasets within the context of induced proximity drug discovery strategies.
- Communicate with project managers on design and implementation of analytical processes, project progress, and results.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience required.
- Experience Exception: Master's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, statistics/computer science (with a background in biological sciences or chemistry) or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in at least one programming or scripting language and at least one statistical package, with R preferred.
- Experience in high throughput screening and proteomics data analysis strongly preferred.
Compensation
- In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St.
- Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
- This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
- A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Senior Bioinformatics Analyst.
