About the role
- The Gas Accounting Team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the of gas costing information and the Company's compliance with state and federal regulations.
- In particular, the Accounting Analyst compiles and analyzes gas costing information used in financial reporting (SEC, IRS, NCUC, SCPSC, etc.), and fulfillment of regulatory requests.
- This position is responsible for recording all cost of gas entries, including all related regulatory deferred accounts and inventory accounts.

Requirements
- Strong interviewing and teamwork skills are required to perform information gathering, analysis, and reporting.

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other closely related discipline
- Must have 1 year (2+ desired) of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
- Must have 2 years (4+ desired) of increasingly diverse or complex experience in a related field in addition to degree
- Possesses and applies comprehensive and strategic knowledge of accounting and finance principles, practices, and procedures to complete complex assignments
- Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft FMIS, Power Plant, etc.) and query tools
- Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Master's degree in Accounting
- In addition to desired degree, 2 years related work experience
