About the role
- The Controls Technician plays a key role in implementing and maintaining controls hardware, instrumentation, and electrical equipment across production and facility systems.
- In this position, you will troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and automation components to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform field wiring of instrumentation and motor controls to ensure proper installation and optimal system functionality.
- Conduct and document maintenance calibrations, installations, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to perform advanced troubleshooting and system analysis.
- Support equipment commissioning, process improvements, and system upgrades alongside cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including updates to control logic, wiring diagrams, and calibration data while adhering to safety and compliance protocols.
- You will support equipment commissioning, execute system upgrades, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvements in process performance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls, or instrumentation within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Proven proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial sensors.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions, which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while protected by PPE for extended periods.
