About the role

To remove, repair, calibrate, adjust, modify, construct, install, service and maintain all mechanical, electrical and electronic instrumentation and controls used for engineering, production and testing purposes.
Including: optical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, photographic, magnetic, electrical, electronic, sonic, strain gages and their lead wire systems, telemetry and slip ring data systems, computer related data acquisition systems, communications equipment and vibration systems.

Troubleshoots faulty equipment and performs necessary repairs by referring to complex wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and books or manuals with minimum supervision.
Performs necessary mechanical assembly and disassembly of any or all associated components of any instrument.
Performs routine maintenance on electronic and associated equipment including cleaning, lubricating, calibration and parts replacement.
Helps maintain departmental files of wiring diagrams, instrumentation manuals, calibration records, charts, graphs and keeps maintenance records up to date, including instrument work order forms.
Designs and constructs experimental circuits, solid state and tube type.
Under test conditions, operates related equipment to perform a complete functional check of all controls to determine operation and defects.

Must be able and willing to work 1st (7am-3pm), 2nd (3pm-11pm), and 3rd (11pm-7am) shifts.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Performs soldering, arc and spot welding and brazing as required.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able and willing to work 1st (7am-3pm), 2nd (3pm-11pm), and 3rd (11pm-7am) shifts. Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to realignment.
