About the role
- Position Overview The Independent Living Coordinator provides consumer-directed services that help individuals with disabilities live more independently, participate in their communities, and achieve personally meaningful goals.
- This position will serve communities throughout Iron, Beaver, and Millard Counties, including Cedar City, Enoch, Parowan, Paragonah, Beaver, Milford, Minersville, Delta, Fillmore, and surrounding rural areas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain person-centered Independent Living Plans.
- Provide individualized support, advocacy, information, referral, and service coordination.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program and grant requirements.
- Plan or assist with activities, workshops, meetings, and support groups that promote independent living and community participation.
- Support Youth and Transition Services
- Build Community Partnerships
- Help consumers identify assistive technology that may support independence.
- Maintain accurate equipment loan documentation.
- Collaborate with the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation and other partners regarding long-term assistive technology needs, assessments, and resources.
- Support Transportation and Community Access
Requirements
- Strong understanding of and commitment to Independent Living philosophy.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a team.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic documentation systems.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of local community resources in Iron, Beaver, or Millard Counties.
- Experience with outreach, group facilitation, case coordination, or skills training.
- Some evening or occasional weekend hours may be required for community events, consumer activities, or outreach efforts.
- Required
- Commitment to disability rights, self-determination, inclusion, and consumer choice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and documentation skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with consumers, community partners, and coworkers.
- Valid Utah Driver License.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Iron, Beaver, and Millard Counties.

Compensation
- $35k-$40k

- Build relationships with schools, special education programs, adult education providers, Southern Utah University, Southwest Technical College, and other post-high education or training partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, referral sources, service providers, schools, chambers of commerce, healthcare organizations, senior centers, workforce programs, and local government entities.
