Responsibilities

  • As Head of Talent Management at Tessera Therapeutics, Ben leads Tessera's talent strategy across talent acquisition, performance management, and talent mobility.

  • Tessera Therapeutics is pioneering Gene Writing™- a new biotechnology designed to offer scientists and clinicians the ability to write small and large therapeutic messages into the genome, thereby curing diseases at their source.
  • Gene Writing holds the potential to become a new category in genetic medicine, building upon recent breakthroughs in gene therapy and gene editing while eliminating important limitations in their reach, utilization, and efficacy.
  • Hands-on experience developing, executing, and troubleshooting NGS analysis pipelines in cloud-based environments.
  • Developing computational biology pipelines with leading cloud technologies (i.e. Dagster, Nextflow) and state-of-the-art control systems software and procedures (i.e. CI/CDs, unit tests, etc.).
  • Working both independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to design, analyze, and interpret multi-omics technologies focused on understanding gene writing systems.
  • Developing the computational methods to understand and model gene writing events
  • Processing, analyzing, and interpreting data from a wide variety of research and preclinical projects to develop rigorous hypotheses.

Requirements

  • He has more than 15 years of experience in gene therapy, computational genomics, and genomic safety.
  • PhD with 5+ years of experience in academic or industry setting, MS with 10+ years of experience or BS with 12+ years of experience
  • Experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow, Dagster, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience with AWS/cloud computing, version control, reproducible analysis practices, and software development best practices.

Compensation

  • The stated pay range represents Tessera's good-faith estimate for this role.
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to individual qualifications, years of relevant experience, internal compensation alignment, and external market data.
  • $74.00 - $80.00 USD per hour
