  • The role will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance with all Material Handling Equipment, automated systems, and conveyors involving all customer s and vendors of Kenco Fleet Services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate required.
  • 6-8 years of mechanic experience required
  • preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance of material handling or similar equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks.
  • Gold level Toyota forklift certification or equivalent preferred
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Ability to lead others and interact with customers.
  • Supply own mechanic technician hand tools.
  • Proficien cy in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

  • Provide daily work assignments and directions to technicians based on priorities, skill levels, customer commitments, and operational needs.
  • Champion safety by prioritizing safe work practices and modeling exemplary behavior through proper PPE use, lockout/tagout adherence, and full compliance with safety protocols.
  • Measure and increase utilization of technicians.
  • Responsible for the resolution of all service, parts, and warranty issues.
  • Actively train and mentor technicians through hands-on instruction, demonstration of proper techniques, and real-time coaching.
  • Provide hands-on instruction for advanced diagnostic techniques using multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, diagnostic software, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Inspects forklifts, automated systems, conveyors, and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
  • Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot engines, engine fuel systems, transmissions, or other components on material handling equipment, automated systems, and conveyors.
