About the role

  • The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$216,000.00.

Responsibilities

  • Culture vascular cells, prepare cells for single-cell analysis, perform genetic manipulation of cultured cells, and assess function using molecular, imaging, and physiologic evaluations.
  • Develop, refine, and perform microdissections of human blood vessels from tissue specimens for IRB-approved or exempt studies.
  • Develop, refine, and conduct vascular cell culture and co-culture methods, and optimize approaches for studying human vessels and cultured cells at the single-cell level in IRB-approved or exempt studies.
  • Perform vascular phenotyping of rodent models, including mouse models of human diseases or conditions.
  • Perform biochemical characterization of protein-protein interactions involved in vascular cell signaling.
  • Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot instruments and equipment in the laboratory.
  • Manage scientific equipment and resources, including reagents, frozen cell stocks, and animal samples, by overseeing acquisition, documentation, and storage.
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook detailing all experiments.
  • Develop and evaluate pharmacologic strategies that target protein-protein interactions to alter vascular function in human vessels, cells, or animal models of vascular physiology or disease.

Requirements

  • Ability to Obtain Public Trust
  • Master's degree in Biochemical Sciences or related field.
  • Experience with cell culture and vascular biology research techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word).

Nice to have

  • Experience with single-cell analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with rodent models of disease.
  • Background in genetic manipulation and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience presenting at national scientific meetings or publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Prior experience mentoring or training laboratory staff.
