About the role
- A highly skilled UPS Field Engineer is needed to apply an in-depth knowledge of UPS start-up, testing, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modifications.
- Coordinates with technical support to resolve maintenance or operational issues.
- Assists in developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs).
- This role involves commissioning, maintenance, and emergency support for power electronics at customer sites, primarily in the Las Vegas, Nevada region.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience.
- Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative.
- Knowledge of equipment manufacturers' specifications.
- Physically capable of bending and lifting up to 100 lbs as required.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI is required.
- Military veterans with experience in Electrical/Mechanical systems are highly valued (Navy EMN, ETN, MMNs, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard, etc.).
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience. Preferred 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Skilled in troubleshooting equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STSs, etc.
- Proficient with hand tools and test equipment for maintenance and repairs.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on-call when needed.
- Must have a clean driving record.
Nice to have
- Candidate is preferred to live in Las Vegas, Nevada area
- Preferred 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience with third-party UPS service providers is a plus.
- A technical degree (e.g., DeVry, Lincoln Tech) is a plus.
