About the role

  • Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, translating complex technical findings into clear, non-technical business recommendations for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
  • Partner closely with QA engineers, analysts, product managers, and executive teams to understand data requirements and assist with data-related technical issues.
  • Implement quality checks, validation rules, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all data assets.
  • ClearBridge Investments is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer who also possesses robust data analysis capabilities to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Support: Partner closely with QA engineers, analysts, product managers, and executive teams to understand data requirements and assist with data-related technical issues.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Implement quality checks, validation rules, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all data assets.
  • The firm manages more than $200 billion as of September 30, 2025.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one language like Python, Java, or Scala.

Nice to have

  • 3-5+ years in data engineering or related roles, with proven data analysis experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Experience working within the Asset Management industry preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications.

Skills

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL and at least one language like Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Knowledge of data governance tools and practices.

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is targeted for $125,000 to $165,000 plus discretionary bonus.
