About the role

This role is responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, integration processes, and cloud-based data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and mission operations.
The position supports enterprise data movement, transformation, and curation activities across multiple environments.

Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration.
Support development of ETL/ELT workflows for data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms.
Support cloud-based deployment, automation, and sustainment of production data systems.
Collaborate with architects, analysts, and developers to deliver data solutions aligned with mission needs.
Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, or Scala.
Akumen is seeking a Data Engineer to support development and sustainment of modern data platforms for a federal program.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or data integration.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data environments.
Demonstrated experience with data ingestion, transformation, curation, and pipeline troubleshooting.
Minimum Required Qualifications

Advanced degree in a related field.
Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS data services.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.
Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications.
