About the role

  • Chipton-Ross is seeking 5 Structures Mechanics for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.

  • MISCELLANEOUS: *This role is supporting a contract that is governed by SCA.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience working with non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless
  • Knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components
  • Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems
  • Knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
  • The position requires the ability to pass an assessment at the end of training cycle •The position requires compliance to SA Site Tool and FOD procedure
  • The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment
  • Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
  • Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities

Nice to have

  • Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (C17 Depot Level)
  • Experience working with titanium aircraft structures

Compensation

  • 23021/Aircraft Mechanic I -Minimum Hourly Rate= $35.91/hour Additional Hourly Benefit Allowance=$5.09Health & Welfare Benefit (paid for all straight time hours worked up to 40 hours per week)
  • 11 paid holidays per year.

Benefits

  • 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service; 3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years of service; 4 weeks paid vacation after 15 years of service.
