About the role
- Chipton-Ross is seeking 5 Structures Mechanics for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
- PER CLIENT: Candidates who do not have the flexibility to work all shifts or variable shifts should not apply for this opportunity.
- MISCELLANEOUS: *This role is supporting a contract that is governed by SCA.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working with non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless
- Knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components
- Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems
- Knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
- The position requires the ability to pass an assessment at the end of training cycle •The position requires compliance to SA Site Tool and FOD procedure
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment
- Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
- Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
Nice to have
- Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (C17 Depot Level)
- Experience working with titanium aircraft structures
Compensation
- 23021/Aircraft Mechanic I -Minimum Hourly Rate= $35.91/hour Additional Hourly Benefit Allowance=$5.09Health & Welfare Benefit (paid for all straight time hours worked up to 40 hours per week)
- 11 paid holidays per year.
Benefits
- 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service; 3 weeks paid vacation after 5 years of service; 4 weeks paid vacation after 15 years of service.
- 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year.
