About the role

  • Serves as a chair or senior member of an information resource team responsible for setting technical standards and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies and systems to support the department's law enforcement activities and objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware, software and network systems.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard sensitive date and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, and coordinator of tasks to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Conduct regular system audits to assess performance, identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractor to procure and implement IT solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Nice to have

  • Experience with administration of law enforcement records management systems (LERMS).
  • Experience with records retention schedules and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • ITIL or other relevant certifications.
  • Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Certified.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Ability to pass the state and national fingerprint-based background check to obtain the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Certification.

Skills

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
