- This hands-on role will focus on driving printer performance, process capability, and production readiness for high-volume manufacturing of nickel-based superalloy components.
- You will provide day-to-day technical leadership on the manufacturing floor while driving continuous improvement across printing operations, process stability, equipment reliability, and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and optimize Inconel LPBF manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
- Own process development for new products from initial print parameter development through production release.
- Support daily production by troubleshooting print failures, process variation, machine performance, and build quality issues.
- Develop, validate, and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing specifications.
- Partner with Equipment Engineering to commission, qualify, and improve LPBF printing systems.
- Support machine installation, IQ/OQ activities, preventative maintenance strategies, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with Materials Engineering to evaluate print parameters, material behavior, heat treatment requirements, and metallurgical performance of Inconel alloys.
- Lead root cause investigations for quality escapes, build failures, scrap, and process deviations while implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering to support new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on printer uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness(OEE), yield, cycle time reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of process development, statistical process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to export-controlled technologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with EOS, Nikon SLM Solutions, Renishaw, or equivalent LPBF systems.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, residual stress management, and defect mechanisms associated with LPBF manufacturing.
- Experience with process validation, DOE, PFMEA, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with MES, ERP, and manufacturing data collection systems.
- Experience supporting high-volume production environments and new product introductions.
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
- Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
