About the role

You will gain broad exposure to Generate's business by partnering with teams across underwriting, asset management, capital markets, and accounting.
Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

In this role you will support the full cycle of financial planning and reporting - building models, preparing variance analyses, and helping produce the materials that inform decisions across the firm.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with a broad base of stakeholders and serve as a key point of contact for planning and reporting issues

Requirements

1-3 years of related experience in finance, accounting, or a similar analytical role
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with rolling forecasts and drivers-based variance analysis
Ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
High level of proficiency in Excel
Experience with AI or other automation tools

A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
Familiarity with basic accounting concepts (e.g., ability to read and build a 3-statement financial model)
High level of proficiency in Excel; comfort building and maintaining financial models

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills
High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges
Intellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity; problem-solving is your default mode

Nice to have

Familiarity with major corporate ERP or EPM systems (Adaptive Insights and Microsoft Business Central a big plus)

Skills

Ensure models comply with our reporting framework and modelling standard
Ensure FP&A reporting is consistent with accounting; resolve discrepancies (aligning chart of accounts, entities, and data)
Work cross-functionally with legal, asset management, capital markets, and underwriting to improve forecasts
Provide clear and concise variance explanations
Assist in the preparation of materials for monthly management reports and quarterly board meetings (financial data and other KPIs)

Compensation

Support annual and long-range budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close
