About the role
- The ideal candidate is an independent contributor who can operate with minimal guidance and thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- This is an on-site W-2 hourly role with a 9 - 12 months engagement.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain encoding workflows using HEVC and other advanced codecs.
- Run and analyze video quality tools such as VMAF and SIMMWAVE to evaluate and optimize encoding performance.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth integration of encoding components with downstream systems.
- Provide support in day-to-day encoding tasks to reduce workload on existing engineers.
- This role will support our existing encoding engineer by taking ownership of key tasks related to encoding workflows, system setup, and video quality measurement.
Requirements
- Familiarity with IP video delivery concepts and multicast networking.
- Ability to connect encoders to packagers and troubleshoot workflow issues.
- Hands-on, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to have
- Experience with video encoding technologies ( HEVC required, other codecs a plus ).
- Experience with video quality assessment tools ( VMAF, SIMMWAVE preferred).
Skills
- Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills.
Compensation
- $62k-$67k
