About the role
- Our Wind Technicians are a vital part of our organization, and we take pride in hiring and training the best in the industry.
- This is a full-time, permanent position with significant room for advancement.
- This is both the entry level and initial training level for the series.
Responsibilities
- Always maintain a high level of safety awareness
- Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and perform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer
- Perform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
- Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Hazardous Energy Controls Procedures
- Perform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines
- Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation
- Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo.
Requirements
- In addition to the High School/GED requirement, the ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training Deriva Energy renewables academy within 1 year
- Must pass required Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period.
- Internal Candidates - In addition to the High School/GED requirement, (1+) year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician.
- AAS degree or certification in Wind/Renewable Energy or applicable field of study.
- Experience with Vestas V82 and V90 turbines
- Experience with multiple wind turbine supplier technologies
- Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment (i.e., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, and various hand and power tools)
- Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
