About the role
- NOTE: This role requires on-site presence at our Seal Beach, CA location.
- Respond to service calls and work orders in a timely manner.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities following established schedules and procedures.
Responsibilities
- The Facilities Mechanic I is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of facility systems, utilities, equipment, and building infrastructure to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Support facility projects, equipment installations, office moves, and workspace modifications.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around laboratories, manufacturing equipment, and utility systems.
- May be required to work in cold storage environments including 2°C-8°C, -20°C, -75°C, and liquid nitrogen areas.
- Ability to wear required PPE and gown aseptically for cleanroom environments when necessary.
- Exposure to laboratory and manufacturing environments, including biological materials, while utilizing required protective equipment.
- Participate in required training programs and maintain qualification status.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Nice to have
- Trade school certification, vocational training, or Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- Experience in a GMP-regulated, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
