About the role

  • NOTE: This role requires on-site presence at our Seal Beach, CA location.
  • Respond to service calls and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities following established schedules and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • The Facilities Mechanic I is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of facility systems, utilities, equipment, and building infrastructure to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Support facility projects, equipment installations, office moves, and workspace modifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around laboratories, manufacturing equipment, and utility systems.
  • May be required to work in cold storage environments including 2°C-8°C, -20°C, -75°C, and liquid nitrogen areas.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and gown aseptically for cleanroom environments when necessary.
  • Exposure to laboratory and manufacturing environments, including biological materials, while utilizing required protective equipment.
  • Participate in required training programs and maintain qualification status.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures and work instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

  • Trade school certification, vocational training, or Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
