About the role

  • Additional duties will include back up of essential functions of the Tutoring Center and development of academic success workshops and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Support Programs Tutor - College Laboratory Assistant 2
  • Under general supervision, the CLA II Academic Support Programs Tutor works with a variety of students, that may include students whose placement test scores identify them as academically disadvantaged, English Language Learners, or students in other at-risk categories.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure
  • 4 years of work experience where no degree/certificate/diploma/degree/licensure is required
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience in a two-year or four-year college
  • BA I BS degree or higher in related field
  • Knowledge of general trades in a technical or community college
  • Ability to actively engage and motivate students
  • Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
  • With campuses in Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie, Hennepin Technical College has a diverse student population of more than 9,500 and offers degree and non-degree coursework in over 45 programs.

Skills

  • In addition, this CLA will tutor students in basic computer applications as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Compensation

  • $21.89 - $31.44 Hourly
  • Minimum Qualifications
