About the role
- As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you'll join a dynamic team committed to strengthening the world's energy systems to make them more resilient, efficient, and reliable.
- This position reports to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Supports the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies related to Balance of Plant (BoP) systems and other engineering projects.
- Creates and modifies 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Assists engineers in evaluating design concepts and implementing design improvements to support equipment alignment, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Assists with basic engineering analysis and interpretation of simulation outputs, including FEA or CFD results, to support design decisions.
- Prepares technical documentation, drawings, and reports to support project execution and engineering reviews.
- Works with cross-functional engineering teams to understand project requirements and translate them into mechanical design solutions.
- Participates in design discussions, technical reviews, and problem-solving activities with engineers and technical staff.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field at an accredited university, with sophomore standing or above.

- Eagerness to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
- Physical Demands: This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks.
- Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
Skills
- Machine design and/or electrical control and system engineering.
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Ability to read FEA/CFD results.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
