About the role
- This is a true Product Owner role with some Product Manager-like responsibilities due to the internal nature of the platform.
- Unlike other product areas, Wellfit Connect does not currently have a dedicated Product Manager.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Product Owner for Wellfit Connect, owning requirements, backlog readiness, sprint planning support, and delivery execution.
- Partner with business stakeholders, Product leadership, BAs, architects, UX/UI, and engineering teams to translate needs into clear product briefs, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Own the "what," "why," and early "how" of UI/process changes, including creating basic wireframes, workflow drafts, or visual concepts that can be handed off to UX/UI for refinement.
- Manage overlapping and interdependent projects where requirements may affect each other and sequencing decisions may create rework if not handled thoughtfully.
- Help stakeholders think in MVP terms when projects are too large to deliver all at once, negotiating scope and protecting the development team from unnecessary churn.
- Maintain backlog hygiene, prioritize incoming requirements, monitor delivery risks, and provide visibility into blockers, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
- Build strong working relationships with a collaborative development team and contribute to a positive, helpful team culture.
- This person will own the requirements and execution clarity, but they should be comfortable in a reactive, internal-platform environment where priorities often come from other teams and business initiatives.
Requirements
- Success in this role requires patience, adaptability, strong systems thinking, and the ability to stay productive even when architecture resources or technical constraints slow delivery.
- Support a highly UI- and process-driven internal platform where onboarding flows, configuration steps, and user interactions must be clearly understood and thoughtfully designed.
- Ability to manage multiple overlapping projects with competing requirements and cross-team dependencies.
- SaaS, fintech, healthcare, payments, onboarding, or configuration platform experience is helpful but not required. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on Product Owner who enjoys owning complex internal systems, working through UI/process flows, and helping teams turn broad business needs into practical delivery plans. They should be comfortable working without a dedicated Product Manager, partnering directly with business stakeholders, and representing the product area in higher-level conversations. They should also understand that this role is not primarily about owning a grand external product vision - it is about creating clarity, managing requirements, protecting execution, and helping Wellfit Connect scale as a critical internal platform. This person should be patient, adaptable, team-oriented, and able to work through constraints without becoming discouraged. They should enjoy building relationships with engineering and architecture teams and should be willing to jump into adjacent work when dependencies slow their primary backlog. Why Wellfit?

- Own a Critical System: Wellfit Connect is foundational to how organizations, practices, products, and plans are configured and activated.
