About the role
- As an Associate Director on our Life/Health Insurance team, you will join a supportive and collaborative group of approximately 15 analysts with diverse backgrounds and experiences in the financial services sector.
- Our team specializes in conducting comprehensive credit analysis for life/health insurance financial strength and debt ratings, working closely with analytical colleagues across the U.S. & Canada.

Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor junior analysts, providing analytical support to team members and fostering a collaborative environment
- Deliver high-quality analytical work consistently while meeting critical deadlines
- By valuing different perspectives and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration, we drive innovation and power global markets.
- The Policy is designed to promote compliance with global regulations.
Requirements
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 6+ years of experience in financial statement analysis, accounting concepts and financial modeling, preferably with experience in corporate credit analysis
- Strong client-facing skills with ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to think independently and critically with strong integrity, analytical curiosity, problem-solving, and research skills
- Ability to accurately interpret financial data and appropriately apply analytical criteria to generate key insights and conclusions
- Proactive and organized with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines
- This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer
Nice to have
- Experience in mentoring or coaching junior professionals in analytical roles
- Demonstrated presentation experience with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting for insurance entities
- Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related analytical field
- MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and capital markets, with knowledge of credit rating methodologies preferred
