About the role
- MSS provides all training for a commercial driving license as applicable.
- Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must relate well with people with disabilities and with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized program plan for persons in assigned group. Assist persons served with their personal needs as necessary, including using the bathroom, eating, putting on coats, etc.
- Assist program participants with developing and using a functional communication system to communicate needs and interact with others. Utilize technology and adaptive equipment to increase each person's independent functioning.
- Pass medications and drive people to and from the center and community sites.
Requirements
- Must accurately record behavior of persons served and complete required forms.
- Must be qualified for employment in a Day Services Facility as determined by the MN DHS.
- Must pass other background checks as required by MSS. and/or state and federal law.
- Must be able to lift and transfer adults with physical disabilities, using mechanical lifts and other methods identified as appropriate for a participant.
- Must have/maintain a valid driver's license and must have/secure a Passenger Assistance Certificate within 6 months of hire.
- Must have a clean driving record and be insurable under the conditions set by our insurance carrier.
