About the role

Responsibilities

  • The Advanced Photon Source (APS) POLAR beamline is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee to develop and employ advanced high-pressure instrumentation for x-ray spectroscopy and scattering techniques.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with high pressure diamond anvil cell technology.
  • Ability to model Argonne's Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
  • Experience with x-ray techniques and/or synchrotron experiments.
  • Experience with nanofabrication tools (particularly focused ion beam and lithography).
  • Familiarity with scientific programing languages such as python.
