About the role
- This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 3 months, with a possibility of extension.
- What you will be working on: Hands-on role to carry out routine and non-routine cultivation operations related to biomass harvesting, nutrient replenishment and application, pond cleanliness.
- Monitor greenhouse environmental conditions and Lemna plant health.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the pilot plant team for harvesting and maceration of plant biomass for processing.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Adjust and maintain chemical, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical control systems.
Requirements
- The USP Operator will be working outdoors in a greenhouse environment and is responsible for routine greenhouse and cultivation operations, including knowledge of hydroponics/aquaponics, harvesting, and data collection.
- Some prior experience in greenhouses, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in a facility manufacturing environment.
- Experience in basic technical/mechanical manufacturing.
- Ability to do basic math functions (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
- Must be able to convert standard units of measurement.
- Forklift Certification or the ability to complete certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to stand 8+ hours a day, reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift over 50 lbs.
Nice to have
- Experience in chemical processing and automated control systems is a plus.
- Experience in hydroponics/aquaponics is a plus!
