About the role
- New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda.
- With nearly $150M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 399 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England and across the country.
- As an Organ Surgical Recovery Coordinator, you will be present in the OR assisting surgeons as they recover organs, and you will facilitate the process for organ preservation including the use of cutting edge mechanical perfusion devices.
Responsibilities
- Saving lives through organ and tissue donation is the mission uniting our employees and drives the work we do.
- You will also independently perform the recovery of corneas and heart valves for transplant from deceased donors.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite and Outlook, and ability to learn new internal NEDS systems required
- Must be able to work long hours including overnights, holidays and weekends
- Aseptic Technique is preferred but not required
Nice to have
- Must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable with traveling on a small aircraft
- This position requires travel to Waltham Headquarters and various hospitals throughout New England
