Responsibilities

  • Relationship Development ‐ Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, industry partners, and decision-makers in Charlotte with a focus on identifying, shaping, and advancing opportunities into the active proposal pipeline.
  • Represent the firm in local and regional events, associations, and networking forums with the goal of uncovering qualified leads, strengthening target account access, and expanding the project pipeline.
  • Participate in leadership roles within industry-specific professional organizations and use those connections to create qualified opportunities, strengthen strategic relationships, and support proposal and revenue growth
  • Develop and implement a targeted business development strategy for Charlotte metro that is designed to create proposal opportunities, expand pipeline, and contribute to metro revenue goals.
  • Partner with local leaders to identify, qualify, prioritize, and actively advance pursuits ensuring consistent movement of opportunities into proposals and awarded work.
  • Support firmwide market sector efforts in designated strategic areas by coordinating local intelligence, relationships, and pursuit activity with enterprise priorities.
  • Help lead local business development meetings that drive accountability for pipeline progression, proposal readiness, and pursuit outcomes.
  • Support business development best practices by helping teams use planning tools, pursue target accounts, and coordinate activity across metro and market sector efforts.
  • Conduct regular touchpoints with key clients and partners to understand future needs, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities for local leaders to engage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, business, marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or a similar role in the A/E/C industry
  • Strong understanding of the A/E/C industry and market trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

Nice to have

  • Leadership role(s) in industry professional organizations (ULI, NAIOP, CREW, AMFP, etc.), active or future roles preferred
