About the role
- Events may include, but are not limited to, the annual She is Wise Conference, ONWA's Annual General Assembly, MMIWG Pow Wow, and the Annual All-Staff training.
- The Project Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and reporting event progress and budgets and provide post-event analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- The Event Coordinator will lead all aspects of event planning, logistics, and budgets for assigned events.
- The events coordinator will support interdisciplinary teams in planning and executing events and/or campaigns as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business, event planning or another relevant field with a minimum of three (3) years' work experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination, and execution of large events.
- Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to multi-task under little supervision.
- Solution oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with financial planning to budget and manage event costs.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, specifically in supporting and guiding others during planning, coordinating, and executing events.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, internet, and general office equipment.
- Ability to travel.
- Knowledge and experience working for not-for-profit organizations
- Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous women and their families.
- Project management experience.
- Strong communicator - with excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently or part of a team.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
