Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate new and updated embedded AMB control system software
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Support software quality assurance efforts and testing protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • The Software and Controls Engineering Graduate Intern is responsible for supporting design, development, validation, and support of active magnetic bearing (AMB) control system software and firmware.
  • Familiarity with embedded software design patterns and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate root causes and implement effective countermeasures

Requirements

  • Required: Pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly programming, with exposure to microcontrollers, microprocessors, and RTOS environments
  • Experience with hardware-software integration, debugging, and testing techniques
  • The ideal candidate would be currently enrolled in a graduate program pursuing a master's degree.
  • Working knowledge of power management principles and cybersecurity fundamentals
