- This role is 100% onsite, at the manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Packaging Manager with packaging development, optimization, commercialization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate packaging, product, and master data throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introductions, engineering changes, and product discontinuations, ensuring data integrity across ERP/PLM and related business systems.
- Develop, maintain, and control packaging specifications, product documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), testing records, engineering files, and technical documentation.
- Analyze packaging and production performance data, prepare reports and dashboards, and identify trends and opportunities that support engineering decisions and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with Packaging Engineering, Product Development, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, Commercialization, and suppliers to support product launches, packaging changes, and material management.
- Support production on the manufacturing floor conducting packaging trials, process observations, validations, and data collection.
- Support special projects and provide technical and administrative assistance for packaging engineering, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, enhance data accuracy, and support cross-functional project execution.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, engineering support, quality, IT or data management.
- Experience maintaining ERP, PLM, or other data management systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience entering, validating, maintaining, and analyzing technical, product, or production data.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting packaging engineering, product development, or food manufacturing operations.
- Experience with product master data management, ERP/PLM systems, engineering change management, or new product introduction (NPI) processes.
- Experience maintaining product specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
- Experience with packaging validation, shelf-life testing, product trials, and commercialization activities.
- Familiarity with production metrics, line efficiency, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working on material tracking.
- Experience using reporting or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of food safety, packaging materials, regulatory requirements, quality systems, and documentation control.

- $30k-$40k
