About the role

  • Conduct feasibility and planning studies.
  • Prepare planning and detailed project cost estimates including engineering, materials, and construction.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines, review work of other engineers and technologists.

  • Detailed design and engineering of 12 kV to 500 kV overhead transmission line projects from conceptual design through to construction.
  • Detailed design of underground transmission line projects from 12 kV to 230 kV.
  • 2-5 years transmission lines design experience.
  • Transmission structure foundation design experience is an asset, including direct embed and concrete pier foundation design.
  • Familiar with applicable codes, standards, and regulations applicable to transmission line design in the United States.
  • Job Description Overview We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our client's office in Atlanta, GA to lead and work on various Power Substation Utility and T-Line Engineering projects.
  • Your role Detailed design and engineering of 12 kV to 500 kV overhead transmission line projects from conceptual design through to construction.
  • Prepare construction and material specifications and scope documents for construction tenders and contracts.

Requirements

  • Ability to take on a project engineer role as required.
  • About you Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Technical acuity in T&D Engineering is required.
  • Ability to inform design process based on previous experience with similar projects.
  • Strong proficiency using PLS software suite
  • Experience with transmission tower structural analysis is an asset.
  • Experience with thermal upgrading and line condition assessments is strongly desired.
  • Strong proficiency using PLS software suite; PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER.

Nice to have

  • P.E. registration is preferred or eligible to obtain a P.E. within a year or two.

Compensation

  • Expected compensation range is between $80,000 - $110,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
