About the role
- This screening includes the verification of proof of citizenship or permanent resident status, a criminal record and other security check.
- Liaisons - Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. - Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
- Work environment is typically considered within a Smiths location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs investigations with the engineering department.
- Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
Requirements
- Must possess a bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in in Quality Engineering for an electronics company.
- Experience with investigation performance in 8D methodologies ( Ishikawa, 5Whys ).
- Experience with audits performance based on quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
- The disclosure of controlled goods to unauthorized persons is a criminal offense under Canadian law, therefor, you will be required to strictly comply with all Canadian laws that apply to controlled goods.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge Domain preferred.
- Experience with physical installation of ESD tools preferred.
- Experience in training performance preferred.
- Knowledge of utilization of measurement tools. ( Calipers, Micrometers, Microscopes ) preferred.
