Responsibilities
- Ability to collaborate, cooperate, and establish a dialogue with campus administrators, faculty members, and departments
- Develop relationships of trust with Sorensen Center Fellows and Affiliates
- Support Fellows in their facilitation of meetings with Affiliate groups
- Promoting application of the principles of Christ-centered leadership among campus leaders, and particularly those who manage student employees
- Propose and manage budgets regarding Fellow and Affiliate initiatives
- Define volunteer involvement opportunities and develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, including collaborative efforts
- Create, plan, organize, and execute small-scale activities, campaigns, events, initiatives, etc.
- Train, teach, supervise, and direct the work of student employees who support the efforts of Sorensen Center Fellows and Affiliates
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to teach, train, and mentor students
- Experience with problem-solving and ability to exercise sound judgment
- Experience with supervision and management
- Knowledge of, and ability to, operationalize theories, strategies, and best practices related to teamwork

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree related to Student Affairs, Instructional Design, or Public Administration
- Minimum Experience Required
- Preferred Experience
- Demonstrated experience with scholarly research and publications
- Ability to navigate associated challenges and opportunities when creating belonging, in terms of background, culture, ethnicity, life experience, and perspective
- Advanced technical and computer skills, including experience with statistical software, etc.
- Experience with evaluation, assessment, and implementation
Skills
- Understanding of and ability to apply university policy and procedure
- Ability to connect Sorensen Center activities, events, and efforts to the larger concept of experiential learning
- Ability to connect with, relate to, and establish appropriate boundaries with university students
- Ability to create, establish, and carry-out a vision
- Ability to establish effective accountability measures, including effective goal-setting, follow-up, and success indicators
Compensation
- Excellent work-life balance: 13 paid holidays + 22 days paid vacation + 12 sick days, accrued annually
Benefits
- Additionally, if you contribute 5%, BYU adds an additional 4% (Rehires may qualify for different retirement plans)
- Utilize and implement Sorensen Center Vision/Mission Fulfillment Process, which involves proposal, budgets, logistics, communications, service, internal and external stakeholder relationships, and program evaluation
