Responsibilities

  • The Vice President of Data is responsible for building and leading the firm's data strategy, analytics, and reporting infrastructure to support legal operations, firm leadership, and business growth.
  • Data Strategy & Governance Develop and execute a firm-wide data strategy aligned with business goals, growth plans, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish data priorities that support litigation outcomes, client performance, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Drive delivery of high-quality solutions on time and within scope.
  • Technology Roadmap & Innovation Develop and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional leaders.
  • Team Development & Organizational Design Recruit, mentor, and retain a team of data engineers, analytics professionals, and software specialists.
  • Design organizational structures that support scalability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with business leaders across legal operations, finance, HR, and technology to align data initiatives with firm priorities.
  • Support data-driven decision-making across departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in data engineering, analytics platforms, and enterprise data systems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and complex initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Ability to operate at an executive level while remaining hands-on when needed.
  • Experience in professional services, legal, or regulated environments.
  • Experience implementing AI, automation, or advanced analytics solutions.

  • Advise executive leadership using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with long-term technology strategy.

Compensation

  • $180,000 - $220,000 per year This role is on site in Century City/Los Angeles
