About the role

In this role, you will serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely accounting services, financial reporting, and operational excellence.
Proactively identify and resolve client issues and engagement risks.
Delegate and prioritize work to ensure successful delivery across multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities

Stambaugh Ness is seeking an experienced and client-focused Manager, Outsourced Accounting Services to lead client engagements, mentor accounting professionals, and drive exceptional service delivery within our growing Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) practice.
You will oversee a team of accounting professionals while partnering with leadership to support business growth, client retention, and service expansion.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys building client relationships, developing talent, and improving processes in a dynamic professional services environment.
Build trusted advisor relationships with client executives, including CFOs, Controllers, and business leaders.
Lead monthly and quarterly business review meetings, presenting financial results, key performance indicators, and actionable recommendations.
Manage engagement timelines, deliverables, and service expectations to ensure exceptional client satisfaction.
Support audits, reviews, and special projects as needed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and scalability.
Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Accountants and Senior Project Accountants.
Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and support career development.

Nice to have

CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure.
Experience in outsourced accounting, consulting, client accounting services (CAS), or professional services environments.
Experience with accounting automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
Business development experience, including participation in prospect meetings, solution scoping, or proposal development.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Prior experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is an estimate of $125,000 - $145,000.
A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual's skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
