About the role
- Under the supervision of a credentialed Physician, assists in Cardiac Cath procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
- Assists with care of critically ill patients.
- The scope of care includes age group adolescent thru geriatric.
Responsibilities
- Maintains sterile technique throughout invasive procedures, at the end of the procedure, assures that the surgical equipment is placed in the appropriate containers and taken to SPD.
- Performs and rotates through functions of scrub, circulating (not administering medications), and monitoring positions.
- Performs and documents daily operational functions on procedure room equipment on designated documentation form.
- Maintains a team environment and culture.
- Assumes responsibility for own personal and professional development.
Requirements
- Minimum Experience: Graduate of an accredited RCIS or ASRT program required or a minimum of one (1) year of critical care (CCU, ICU, CVICU, ER) experience working in the job classifications noted above.
- Ability to operate technical equipment
- Prepares for procedure in terms of sterile supplies required.
- Ensures that required pre-, intra-, and post- procedure is present and accurate when documenting in the patient EMR.
