About the role
- Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Tech will provide patient and family-centered care as a member of the health care team.
- Where appropriate they are responsible for preparing the patient and environment for the visit and/or procedure.
- Emergency Department Technicians are responsible for maintaining non-pharmaceutical supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs 12-lead EKG and sets up for cardiac monitoring.
- Performs venipuncture
- Answer phones courteously, record and deliver messages accurately, and serve as a communication hub during emergencies.
- Support licensed personnel with patient transfers and discharges as needed.

Requirements
- Starts at $24.15 and goes up to $36.50 based on years of experience.
Nice to have
- 2 years of certified ED Tech, MA, CNA, or equivalent experience required
- Bilingual skills preferred.
Compensation
- Successfully completes department-specific annual waived testing competencies per Lab requirements.

- Performs CPR within the scope of practice, as well as participates in Rapid responses in the health center.
- Stock exam and utility rooms, and maintain supplies and forms at department-specific par levels.
- Collect, label, and submit documents for scanning and/or submission to medical records.
- Applies splints as directed by a licensed medical provider.
- Assists in Patient Safety Observation for behavioral health-related issues.
- Graduated from a Certified Emergency Department Technician, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Assistant Program.
- A healthcare background is also preferred.
