About the role
- We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lab Technician to support product development and prototype builds in a fast-paced startup environment.
- This role will work closely with the engineering team to assemble prototypes, solder electronic components, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage inventory of consumables.
- The ideal candidate enjoys building and troubleshooting hardware, is highly organized, and can adapt to changing priorities as products move from concept to prototype and production.
Responsibilities
- Assist with prototype integration, testing, and design iterations.
- Testing & Engineering Support
- Document assembly processes, observations, and test results.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory and assembly workspace.
Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience in a startup, R&D, prototype, or product development environment.
- Experience with electromechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
- Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
- Required
- Experience soldering surface mount parts.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and inventory tracking applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- IPC soldering certification or equivalent experience.
