About the role

The Equipment Operator - Overburden Removal is responsible for safely and efficiently removing soil, rock, and other materials that overlay limestone reserves within the quarry.
The operator plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment while supporting overall site efficiency and compliance.

Load haul trucks efficiently while minimizing oversize, spillage, and cycle delays
Responsible for fueling, oiling, greasing equipment as well as understanding the equipment's safety manual
Follow all MSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies and procedures
Report hazards, near misses, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions immediately
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training
Understand and follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules as applicable to facility, job function and equipment
Ability to travel to other sites in the area as needed
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.

Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule
Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math
Working knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principles
Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventory
Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management, or customer
Must possess and exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to get things done
Must have the ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground
Must have the ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs
Must have the ability to bend, crouch and/or kneel at the waist or knees
Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up at least 50lbs
