Responsibilities
- This position is the lead support person for the Municipal Police Academy (MPA), reporting directly to the Director.
- Accurate and Timely procession of paperwork (instructor and course), strong customer service orientation, and administrative support of the academy mission is vital.
Requirements
- Ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material.

Nice to have
- Point of contact for the contracted Law Enforcement Instructors certified by the MPOETC.
- Communicate daily through telephone and email with students and instructors to correct problems, provide information, and respond to customer inquiries.
- Assist staff with handling local level training processes changes, identifying needs, working to resolve issues, and identifying strategic planning initiatives.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the MPA as necessary in coordination with the Director, MPA, track and report student count.
- High School diploma and three (3) years of relevant administrative work experience or an Associate's degree in relevant field.
- Working knowledge of police/public safety training and/or law enforcement experience is highly preferred.
- Prior work experience in the public safety sector is highly desired.
- Proficient communication skills to include both written and verbal.
