About the role
- The Underwriting Technical Assistant is responsible for the binding process of insurance policies, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
- The role includes inputting necessary information into underwriting applications for accurate policy rating, documentation, and issuance.
- They act as a liaison between underwriters and brokers, responding to inquiries, collecting information for quoting, and providing revised quotes.
Responsibilities
- Review and process underwriting applications, gathering and entering information necessary to accurately rate, document, and issue policies.
- Support new business submissions by preparing accounts for marketing and assisting Binding Underwriters with carrier placement activities.
- Manage a high volume of submissions, policy transactions, endorsements, and service requests while maintaining quality and turnaround expectations.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of policy transactions, endorsements, correspondence, and client information.
- Provide operational support to underwriters and underwriting assistants to ensure continuity of service during absences or periods of increased workload.
- Prepare reports related to binding activity, performance metrics, and compliance initiatives to support business objectives and process improvements.
- Minimum of 1 year of insurance industry experience, underwriting support experience, or experience in a related role.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a passion for providing outstanding service to insurance agents, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Operations, Sales, or a related field
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
